A grant-making organization in Detroit wanted to update their current website design, enhance some sections, and add new functionality.

hudson-webber.org – early 2017

My team put together a wonderful redesign based on the WordPress platform which not only preserved their digital branding, but it also upgraded to a more modern look-and-feel.

Vibrant Services

A concern of the client was to ensure users were aware of the “What We Do” and our “Mission Areas” that we focus on. These areas needed to “feel large and important” as well as “warm and bright”. The approach was to combine great photography, more unique layouts, and finished with some large type and vibrant colors.

Filterable Grant Database

The client requested a way for users to view and filter through awarded grants by three points: year, amounts, and Mission Area. The result was a masonry grid layout, select boxes for filtering, some nice transitions, and a bunch of JavaScript. Individual Grants are editable via the WordPress Dashboard as a Custom Post Type with details powered by Advanced Custom Fields making for a truly robust system.
